Our Website Design Process — From Concept to Launch

Building a website is a collaborative effort. We handle the design and development; you provide the content and direction. Here is the step-by-step process we follow.

Step 1: Planning & Sitemap

We map out the structure of your site — what pages you need, how they connect, and what the user journey looks like. This is also when we discuss functionality requirements (contact forms, booking systems, e-commerce, etc.).

Step 2: Wireframes

Before any visual design happens, we create wireframes — simple layouts that show where content, images, and navigation will sit on each page. Think of it as the blueprint before the paint goes on. This is the easiest stage to make structural changes.

Step 3: Visual Design

Once the wireframes are approved, we design the actual look and feel. This includes colours, typography, imagery, buttons, and all visual elements. We typically design the homepage and one interior page first, then extend the style to the remaining pages after approval.

Step 4: Content Integration

This is where your content goes in — text, images, videos, team photos, product descriptions. The better the content, the better the final site. We can help with copywriting and photography if needed, but this is quoted separately.

Step 5: Development & Build

We build the site on your chosen platform (typically WordPress), making it fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile. We integrate any required functionality — forms, booking, galleries, SEO setup.

Step 6: Testing & Review

We test across browsers and devices, check all links and forms, optimise loading speed, and run through an accessibility checklist. You review the site and flag any final changes.

Step 7: Launch & Handover

Once approved, we push the site live. We provide training on how to manage content, set up analytics, and ensure backups are in place. Post-launch support is available for ongoing updates and maintenance.
