Website Content Checklist — Everything We Need From You

This is a practical checklist of everything we typically need from you to build your website. Not every item applies to every project, but this covers the most common requirements.

Text Content (Per Page)

  • Homepage: headline, introduction paragraph, key selling points, call to action
  • About page: company story, mission statement, team bios (name, role, short description)
  • Services / Products: description of each service or product, pricing (if applicable), key benefits
  • Contact page: address, phone, email, opening hours, map location
  • FAQ: common questions and answers (minimum 5–10)
  • Legal pages: privacy policy, terms and conditions, cookie policy

Images & Media

  • Company logo (vector format preferred — AI, EPS, or SVG)
  • Team photos (high resolution, consistent style preferred)
  • Product photos (high resolution, white background or lifestyle shots)
  • Office / workplace photos
  • Any videos you want embedded
  • Stock image preferences (we can source these — included or quoted separately)

Technical Details

  • Domain name (registered? if not, preferred options)
  • Current hosting provider (login credentials if we are migrating)
  • Email setup (do you use Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or hosting email?)
  • Any existing website to migrate content from
  • Third-party accounts to integrate (Google Analytics, social media, payment processors)

Branding

  • Brand guidelines document (if available)
  • Colour palette (HEX or RGB codes)
  • Fonts in use
  • Tone of voice preferences (formal, casual, playful, authoritative)

Tip: Do not wait until everything is perfect to send content. Send what you have early — even rough drafts — and we can refine as the project progresses. Waiting for perfect copy is the most common cause of website project delays.
